STJ School Led Worship at STJ Church this Weekend
St. John Church is hosting a STJ School Worship Weekend to highlight some of the incredible things happening in our school. This event will be held during worship services on January 27 & 28. As part of the weekend, we are asking STJ students to volunteer to fill various roles for the weekend. Volunteers will serve as greeters, pass out Weekend Communication Pieces, and assist with offering. As the weekend approaches, the plan is for volunteers to meet with STJ teachers before the service to receive instructions on their position. The link below allows you to sign up your child for one of the services. We are excited about this opportunity and look forward to having our students serve during this weekend. Please understand that there is a limit to the number of volunteers we can accept for this experience. We look forward to celebrating our school during STJ Worship.
This week, we are celebrating National Lutheran School Week. It is an opportunity for STJ to recognize the special opportunity we have to share Christ's love every day. As part of the week, we will be supporting "God's Little Ones" in Madagascar as their school is facing sanitation and water challenges. Pastor Rudy will visit STJ during chapel on Wednesday next week. We will be collecting money in classrooms as students compete to see who raises the most money to support this effort.
As we celebrate NLSW, students will have the opportunity to participate in out of uniform special days. The themes are:
- Monday - pajama day - "Rest in what Jesus has accomplished"
- Tuesday - dress as a class - "We are united in Christ"
- Wednesday - dress as a superhero - "Jesus is our Superhero"
- Thursday - dress as a fan - "We are His followers"
- Friday - Cougar Spirit Wear - "We go as the Spirit leads"
Re-enrollment for the 2018-2019 School Year is officially open for returning families. Families enrolling in EC or Kindergarten will complete the re-enrollment process utilizing the paper copies found in your previously sent home packet. Grades 1-8 enrollment will be on-line through our PowerSchool portal. We are excited about moving our enrollment process online. Please let us know if you have any questions regarding the re-enrollment process.
We invite you to join with us in this year’s Trivia Night themed “Traveling Through the Decades” on January 26, as we end Lutheran Schools Week with a blast from the past. Invite your friends, dress up in attire from your favorite decade (50s, 60s, 70 & 80s), and decorate your table! It is sure to be a totally rad night filled with all of your favorite memories. Registration is currently open. Remember to indicate who you are sitting with in the "Special Requests" field when signing up.
We invite you to join us for our upcoming Observation morning. If you were not able to make Open House or would like to see STJ School in action, we encourage you to attend this event. In addition, we encourage you to share this opportunity with any friends or neighbors who are exploring Kindergarten options. This event is open to any family interested in exploring kindergarten.

Outside Construction Work on Campus
You or your child may notice that we are having some work done at the back of the gym. Over the past several months, we have been updating our landscaping behind the gym. As part of this project, we have installed an extra retaining wall on the hill. In addition, we are also re-leveling the back sidewalk behind the gym. While this should be accomplished by the end of the week, we are excited to have these updates finished for our school!
Middle School Conference Make-Up tomorrow, Tuesday January 23 after school! Students in grades 5-8 who missed their conference have the opportunity for a conference make-up tomorrow, Tuesday, January 23, from 3:45 - 4:45 pm. Follow this link to sign up under your HOUSE group to attend. We are going to run this conference in an Open House style. Therefore, you will not need to sign up for a specific time. We ask that you sign up and arrive sometime between 3:45 & 4:45 pm. Our teachers and HOUSE mentors will be available to start your conference and provide appropriate feedback during this time. We look forward to seeing families tomorrow and thank you for making conferences a priority for your family.
We are excited to grant you access to the STJ PowerSchool Portal. A PowerSchool log-on will grant you access to view student information, attendance, and Single Sign-On capabilities to many of our online tools, including Canvas, LunchTime, and re-enrollment. If you have any questions regarding signing up for a PowerSchool account, please let us know. We are excited to provide this update to families and encourage our K-8 families to sign up as we begin 2018. We pray this portal will bless your family in the new year.
The STJ Annual Fund is a key piece of the school’s fundraising efforts each year. As we consider this year's effort, we ask that you prayerfully consider giving a contribution in support of our Annual Fund. You will be joining with parents, grandparents, family members, alumni, friends and businesses who all support our school. Gifts large and small make a difference and enrich every aspect of the educational experience for our students. Learn more about the Annual Fund or to make a generous gift.
