C. Our application was one of fifty accepted by CAPE (Council Association for Private Education) which advocates represents non-public schools in DC. It was then nominated to the Department of Education.
D. We are the first Lutheran School in Missouri to receive this award under the new No Child Left Behind  process established by the Department of Ed.
E. To our knowledge… only LHS-S/LHS-N (90’s)  and Immanuel, St. Charles (back in the 80’s)  received this award in the old process.
F. Only two private schools in Missouri received this award this year – SJLS and a Catholic school in St. Charles.  Four public school in Missouri received the award.  St. Johns, Bakersfield was the other Lutheran School to receive the award this year.
G. Julie Durst and Spencer Peregoy will travel to Washington DC to be part of the award presentation October 20-21.  We plan to have a special chapel recognition on Wednesday the 22nd in which we will share pictures and information about the trip.
H. Only 3.9% of eligible schools have ever achieved this status.

“To whom much is given, much is expected”… we want to keep a perspective on this award.  We appreciate the hard work done by the “legacy builders” of this school ministry since its inception.  We recognize the hard work of our school staff and lay leadership since 2000 who have rolled up their sleeves to help define and learn how to daily model the best in educational practice with a strong Biblical worldview.  It is with humility we commit ourselves to be wise stewards of this award to champion the cause for quality Christian education.
