Today is Sunday at Stronghold Cambodia. Our group presented a VBS program on the story of Zacchaeus. We used puppets as the story was narrated by Bill and translated by Jesse. Mike, Karen, Vicki and Damian were the puppeteers. There were about 80 students and friends who attended the presentation.
The program started with singing and was followed by the puppet show. After the show there was a craft time where we took pictures of each child and they made picture frames and colored pictures of Zacchaeus. They then played a few games before the children sang for us. A group from each grade (grades 3-6) sang a song for us. The program finished with three songs. We then served the children lunch and following lunch they went home for the day.
The children were very attentive to the puppet show. They really like singing songs and participating in the group activities and crafts. It was a very good day.
It is really exciting to see the hard work that Jesse, Naomi, Tim, Diane and the staff are doing with the children. God found the right group of people to work with these children.
