Congregational Update | March 28, 2017
Dear St. John Family,
If you were in worship this weekend, you already heard the great news, Doug Mauss has accepted our call as our next Associate Pastor (Small Groups & Care Pastor)! This is unbelievably great news! Doug is a highly gifted, highly dedicated man and he is surrounded by a fantastic wife and family; I believe God will bless our mission greatly through them.
Below is an excerpt from the letter Doug sent to officially announce his acceptance.
Dear Members of St. John Church,
It is an honor to receive the Call to your congregation, issued to me through the Board of Directors on Monday, March 20, 2017. St. John has been an inspiration in my own family’s LIFEjourney, and we are excited to be a part of the work the Holy Spirit is doing in this place. I am grateful for the opportunity to serve as your Associate Pastor.
Please uphold me and my family in your prayers as we make this upcoming transition. May the Lord bless our mutual commitment to His mission, as we together pursue the lost, form the next generation into a powerful part of God’s story, and create a welcoming environment for worship and community in West County.
Doug has a few more weeks of schooling ahead of him to complete his M.Div. degree, so we are targeting an official start, complete with an “installation,” in early June. Stay tuned for more details. Until that time, he will remain in his part-time position of Small Groups Director.
I am so grateful God has provided for us and keeps showing us so much favor. Before you delete, forward, or archive this email, please do me a favor, offer up a prayer of thanks to God for his unthinkable goodness!
